All horsehair jewellery is
handcrafted and set in either Sterling silver or 9ct gold. I supply a certificate giving the name of the
horse/pony from whose tail hair the jewellery is made. A presentation case is
included in the price.
I usually require a sample of tail hair the thickness of a pencil and as long
as possible. Removing a sample of this size is not noticeable if it
is taken from the centre of the tail, just below the tip of the dock. However, some designs,
for example Country Link or Country Loop, can be made with much smaller samples
of hair. Mane hair can also be used. Samples of hair from different equines can be incorporated into
the same piece of jewellery if required. All unused horsehair is returned
to you.
All jewellery is now made with permanently locked jumprings and safety
chains are also available for additional security.
